Are there banks on Ilha Grande?

There are NO banks or ATMs on Ilha Grande.

Almost all stores, restaurants, supermarkets and tourist agencies accept credit and debit cards.

The most commonly accepted ones are VISA, Mastercard and Amex. Some places accept Diners Club International and Elo. You will only need to bring cash for small expenses.

Banks on the mainland:

Conceicao de Jacareí: There are no banks in Jacarei, but there is an ATM in one of the local supermarkets.

Angra dos Reis: There are several major banks across the road from the Santa Luzia pier, where you can withdraw money before leaving for the Island.
